Sisi Wedding Dress: The mystery

Sisi Wedding Dress: The mystery

This is my first essay in English for this blog. I think that from now I'll write everything in English. I'll do my best and try to improve my language skills along the way. So, let's start!

As always I'm doing research for the dress I make, so I'm trying to find everything about the Sisi wedding dress. Incredibly, I heard about a mystery. No one knows how the Sisi wedding dress appears, this because basically it disappears. But why? And what we know about it?

Sisi's wedding Dress: the mystery

Photographer, painter and journalist were banned from the event, so we haven't imagined or description of the dress. But we absolutely have no trace of the dress. Not entirely.

The Vienna's Imperial Carriage Museum, displayed a big train (Yes, at time trains were detached from the dress) that hypothetically was part of the lost Sisi's wedding dress. The director of the museum is Dr. Kurzel-Runtscheiner that are trying to solve the mystery. But in 2021 something happened.

The wedding portrait

The Director was contacted by a strange at 2021. A Spanish researcher S. Santibanez said that she found a 1857 portrait of a young Emperess Sisi in a wedding dress. And you know what? She weared the train displayed in the Carriage Museum! (In the portrait you can see below, in my opinion Sisi was stunning!).

But we have to underline something, this portrait was painted three years after the wedding day and wasn't made by an imperial court artist, but by a painter (J. Neugebauer).

Conclusion

The mystery is unsolved yet but, as the Dr. Kurzel-Runtscheiner says we have the 50% of possibility that the mystery dress was how we think it looks like!
