A premium cosplay commission works best when the brief explains more than the character name. The maker needs to understand what matters most to you: silhouette, colour, embroidery, screen-inspired detail, comfort, stage use or photographic impact.
Build a useful reference pack
Send clear front, side and back references when available. Mark the elements that are essential and the elements you are happy to interpret. This prevents unnecessary cost being spent on details you do not actually care about.
Decide the quality level
A convention costume, stage gown and competition build can require different construction. Tell the maker how the piece will be used, how often it will be worn and whether you need fast dressing or travel-friendly components.
Give the real event date
Custom cosplay becomes stressful when the production schedule is based on an approximate deadline. Send the convention or performance date and destination before the commission is accepted.
Measurements and fit
Structured bodices, fitted sleeves and long skirts need accurate measurements. If you plan to wear shapewear, heels or a petticoat, include those choices in the fitting process.
Budget should guide priorities
If the design contains embroidery, crystals, multiple layers and accessories, decide which details have the greatest visual impact. A good commission balances the budget around the features that matter most.
Frequently Asked Questions
Can every cosplay be made exactly like a screen costume?
Not always. Materials, intellectual-property considerations, practicality and budget can require interpretation.

Yes for suitable projects. Send measurements and event date.
When should I enquire before a convention?
As early as possible, especially for highly structured or embroidered work.
